The second magazine i analiysed was 'rolling stone' a rock music magazine, targeted at both males and females, between the ages of 13-25, of whom I would say are underachievers, heonists and post-modernists. I think the cover appeals to the target audience in a variety of different ways. The masterhead is bright read which appeals to the audience and also which connotes a lack of sophistication and modernity, and makes the magazine seem less intimidating. The eroded effect of the font connotes danger and suggests that the music that Rolling stone is promoting is quite bright but sinister. The monocrome colour scheme with the occasional break up of red connotes a sense of death, danger and rebelliation of which would appeal to the lower class target audience. There is an establishing shot image of different famous people such as actor and band players. The man on the top left is holding a guitar, this obviously shows that he is a guitar player in maybe a band. This connotes rebelliation, to rock music.
