In the lesson today i began my contents page for my magazine. I used the colour pink for this page because it is aimed at females. I used a font off the same website that i used for my magazine cover on dafont.com. To influence the reader to have a look what is on offer in the magazine I used another font off the website and put the phrase 'what's Inside'.
To show the readers what is on the cover I pasted a picture of the front cover of the magazine on the contents page so i could compare my pages to the front cover.
To show which pages were used on the front cover i used a puff which says 'On the Cover' so the readers dont get confused when they are looking for a certain story to read.
For the colour of the text I used yellow because its stand out very well and clearly against the colour of the background which is pink.
To make the pages link to the teasers on the front cover i made up stories that will match the teaser well.
Just to add a bit of effect I added a star in the right top corner which is the same as on the front cover.

in my lesson today i started my music magazine. first of all i uploaded a picture of my friend Fiona. i edited the picture by taking the background out and i made the contrast of the picture lighter. I thought because it is a music magazine i looked in a thesaurus for other words which represent music and i decided to use the word harmony. I used a website called dafont.com and used a font from there and because i was aiming the magazine to be for females i filled the font with the colour pink. To make it look like a real magazine i added various headings about stories that are contained in the magazine. for those headings i used a few colours like pink, yellow and blue which work well with the layout of the page. I put Icons on the page such as stars to make the theme for girls and a bar code to make the magazine seem more real. When i thought i had finished i looked at the text and the font of the text on the front page and it looked childish and boring so i decided to use the shadow tool on the program serif page plus which i was using and gave the text a little shadow, this gave my music magazine cover its last finishing touches.

Today I started my mock up for my contents page for my school magazine. I decide i wanted to keep the same kind of layout as the front cover to keep the magazine simple and not to complex. I thought i would add a letter in the top right hand corner to make the pupils read into the depth of the editor of the magazine. I placed two pictures on the page of a pile of books to comprehend with the story about what is on offer at break times, and a picture of an A+ to also comprehend with the story about the children of the school getting great GCSE results.

Today I started my preliminary exercise on my school magazine cover. To start off with I had to decide what colour i would like for my background which works well with other colours and is a suitable colour for both male and female pupils.
I decided to use the colour blue and parts of the background green because the two colours contrast well together and they are suitable for males and females.
During this lesson i also took picture of pupils and i chose one picture to edit in paint shop pro to use for my front cover. I used the chosen picture because the girl in the photograph was wearing blue and the background is blue i thought it worked well and kept with the colour scheme.
I edited my chosen picture and then pasted it onto my magazine cover.
I then looked at a couple of different types of magazine covers so i could get an idea of how to layout the front cover.
I decided i would use different fonts to make the magazine cover look more colourful. I added titles to make the magazine cover to make it look like it has been brought from a shop and i added graphics like a bar code to make it look life like and i also put the price and exclusive which is a buzz word which means that the story is only covered in this magazine.

Today was mt first media lesson. i was told by my teacher everything that i will be doing during the year. She told me that firstly i will have to start my preliminary exercise. I can only use desk top publisher. I have to produce a school magazine cover and then produce a mock-up of the layout of a contents page to demonstrate my grasp on the software desk top publisher. After i was told what i going to be doing i made notes and read through a book which contained key words that i can use in my blogs.
